Lake Manyara national park is strategically situated only 126 km (78 miles) southwest of Arusha and is very near Tarangire National Park (another amazing destination to spot to see elephants and other wildlife).
The park is found between Lake Manyara and the Great Rift Valley and occupies a total area of 325km2 established in the 1960s and then gained national park status in 1974.
